Our energy levels vary from day to day, but thankfully for those days when your energy seems to have plummeted, there are some simple tricks you can do to perk you up. If you’re dealing with constant low energy, that’s a different situation and something we recommend you address. In today’s blog we’re going to break down some simple hacks that will boost your energy levels and are based upon how much energy you currently have. These activities will be broken down into tasks that take no energy, little energy, and higher levels of energy.

Things that require no energy

  • Listen to a favorite song that boosts your mood
  • Take a 5-minute break spent meditating/praying/visualizing
  • Watch a favorite TV show
  • Take a power nap
  • Smell something energizing such as peppermint, citrus, rosemary, etc.

Things that require a little bit of energy

  • Take a short walk outside
  • Modify and declutter your workplace
  • Create a to-do list to help you get back on track and stay focused
  • Make a cup of coffee or caffeinated tea and consume strategically
  • Stretch or do a little yoga

Things that require higher levels of energy

  • Do a quick workout (this could be as little as 10 burpees/dancing to your favorite song or even a short HIIT workout)
  • Take a shower (ideally, look into alternating the temperature between hot and cold)
  • Do something for someone else or pay someone a compliment
  • Make a healthy meal or snack (here are some ideas)
  • Give yourself something to look forward to (this could be scheduling a lunch date, thinking about what you could make that sounds good for dinner, planning out a fun activity for your weekend, etc.)
