David Querrey, CPA
Texas Regional President
David is the founding partner of Q&A Recruiting. David obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from University of Iowa and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He has been in the recruiting industry since 1989 and began his career as an auditor in the Fort Worth office of Ernst & Young before he worked in recruiting for Robert Half International. During his 8 years at Robert Half International, David managed the Dallas office, was a top ten producer worldwide three times, and was consistently recognized at the national level for his personal contributions. David’s knowledge, vision, and contacts in the industry have made him one of the most well-respected recruiters in Texas. He continues to work closely with his clientele and internal staff to grow Q&A Recruiting to be the premier provider of recruiting and contract staffing services in DFW.
Moe Harrison
Texas Regional Vice President
Moe graduated with a BBA from Baylor University and began his recruiting career with the Dallas office of The Lucas Group where he earned President’s Club Honors as a producer in addition to managing the direct hire division. He then worked for Robert Half International in the accounting and finance search division and was a top producer in the Dallas office. Moe joined Q&A as a partner in 1998. He oversees all operations for Dallas and Houston and focuses heavily on the execution of the long-term growth strategies of the firm.
Amy Burleson Hunter, CPA
Associate Partner – Tax
Amy obtained a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. She began her career as an Auditor in the Dallas office of KPMG and later moved to the tax department as a Tax Senior. Amy passed her CPA exam in 1995, and received a top ten score in the state of Texas. She spent 3 years as a Tax Senior at KPMG and 2 years at Tenet Healthcare before starting her career in recruiting at Q&A. During her 6 years at Q&A, Amy started up the Tax Division and has grown it to be the premier tax practice in North Texas. Amy was named an Associate Partner in 2004 and her contacts, knowledge of the market, and her reputation for providing her clients with the highest level of customer service have made her an invaluable part of the Q&A team.
Shannon Smith, CTS
Associate Partner/Managing Director – Contract Accounting
Shannon brings over 10 years of recruiting expertise to Q&A’s Contract Accounting Division. She began in February 2002 and has been one of Q&A’s Senior Recruiting Managers for the last 3 years. Shannon holds a Bachelors Degree in Public Relations from The University of North Texas. Shannon began her professional career with Robert Half's Office Team division where she was a top producer and was then promoted to Division Director. Shannon's ability to connect with her clients and candidates has helped her build relationships that have made her a top producer with Q&A. Shannon was named an Associate Partner in 2005. She continues to develop her network of professional contacts in the accounting industry as a member of the American Payroll Association. Shannon was promoted to Managing Director of the Downtown branch in 2009.
Jennifer Metcalf
Associate Partner – Accounting Support
Jennifer graduated Cum Laude from University of North Texas. Prior to joining Q&A in 2004, she had 2 years experience as both a top producer and sales manager with another local firm. Jennifer's attention to client service helped her become the first Q&A Contract Accounting Staffing Manager to earn the Top Producer's designation within their first year of eligibility. Her strong level of commitment resulted in a promotion to Managing Director in 2007 and leadership of the new Q&A Las Colinas office launched in March 2008. She handles business development for our Accounting Support Division since returning from maternity leave in 2010.
Philana Martin
Associate Partner – Financial Recruiting
Philana has more than 13 years experience in the recruiting industry with both direct hire and temporary services. She began her recruiting career in one of the New York offices of Robert Half International where she was a Division Director in the Contract Accounting group. She was awarded for billing over $1M, and later served as a recruiting manager in RHI’s Direct Hire division where she remained a top producer area wide. Philana joined Q&A in 2002 after relocating to Dallas with her family, and was originally named an Associate Partner in 2005. We are delighted to reinstate this honor after her relocation back again to the area last year. She has consistently been one of the top recruiting managers in the Financial Recruiting Division of Q&A and continues to mentor new staff within Q&A while growing her personal book of business.
Emily Rogers, CPA
Associate Partner – Financial Recruiting
Emily graduated with highest honors from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors in Accounting and a Masters in Accounting. She passed the CPA exam on her first attempt her final semester at A&M. Emily began her career as a Tax Associate in the Dallas office of E&Y. She also spent 3 years working as a Senior Internal Auditor for American Airlines prior to beginning her recruiting career at Q&A in 2006. During her 4+ years with our firm, Emily has demonstrated the same levels of dedication and high achievement by earning Rookie of the Year and Top Biller of the Year.
Laura Pickard
Associate Partner – Accounting Support and Human Resources
Laura has enjoyed more than 12 years in the staffing industry! After graduating with a Finance degree from Oklahoma University, she started her career in financial services. She spent more than 6 years with the local DFW offices of Robert Half International where she held multiple roles including Division Director in the Contract Accounting group and top producer for the Salaried Professional Services team. Laura has been the backbone of the Q&A Accounting Support Division since 2006. Her extensive network in Human Resources and Payroll throughout DFW have assisted her in developing an outstanding reputation in the market. Laura has remained active in supporting the American Payroll Association and the IAPP.
